Early Education Workgroup

This work group is composed of members of the Board and other interested citizens.  The purpose of the work group is to develop opportunities in the community to increase accessibility, availability, and quality of early education experiences.  This group makes recommendations to the Board on issues that include affordability of care, hours of care, transportation, and State Child Care Assistance as well as opportunities for providers to participate in high quality professional development and services regarding children’s social/emotional development.  Another goal is to increase parent and community demand/expectations for high-quality early care and education.  The work group provides oversight to Empowerment/ECIA funded programs including School Ready Scholarships, 4Cs Quality Provider Services & Supports, Childcare Alliance Response Team (CART) through Grant Wood AEA, Home Ties Emergency Child Care, and NCJC Preschool Expansion.  Early Education Work Group meets the 4th Monday of most months at 6:00 pm in room 202A of the County Health & Human Services Building, 855 S.
